Abra may collect personal or personally identifiable information (“PII”) of users using Abra Products. Examples of this standard type of information include name, address, telephone number, user behaviour, transaction history, device information, geolocation, the type of Internet browser you use, your IP address, browser headers, the files you request and the domain name and country from which you request information and any other information Abra may need to perform the Abra services or to help any third parties perform their services in connection with the Abra services. Information collected is used to perform such services or to analyze user preferences, generally improve Abra Products or to service Abra users or any matters related therewith.
Some of our web pages may contain “cookies”, or data that is sent to your web browser and stored on your computer. The purpose of these “cookies” is to allow our server to recognize you as a returning visitor, customize our services, content, and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness; help ensure that your account security is not compromised; mitigate risk and prevent fraud; and to promote trust and safety across our sites and services. We may also use trusted third-party services that track this information on our behalf. In the event you do not wish to receive such cookies, you usually may configure your web browser to not accept cookies or to notify you if a cookie is sent to you. SHARING OF INFORMATION
We may share your PII, including your name, contact details, phone number and transactions and activities, with other Abra users or third parties. We never share your bitcoin network private key. Some of the third parties we may share information with are:
- Banking and Digital Currency Network partners such as banks and bitcoin exchanges;
- Commercial partners such as merchants, master tellers and gateways;
- Marketing partners such as marketing technology companies or marketing agencies;
- Customer Services Partners;
- Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process or requirement;
- Companies that we plan to merge with or are acquired by
in each case as necessary, adequate and permitted by law.
Some of the reasons we share PII with such third parties are:
- Legal Compliance and fraud prevention: to help third parties comply with know-your-customer, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing verification requirements and/or other legal compliance requirements or to help them for any fraud prevention purposes;
- Customer Service: for customer service purposes, including to help service your accounts or resolve disputes (e.g., billing or transactional);
- Marketing: to improve the Abra Products and to improve the user experience when using Abra.
THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
Websites linked to from this site are not covered by this policy. We encourage our visitors to be alert when they leave Abra Products and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.
Abra may provide (i) communications about the Abra Products and the use thereof, (ii) transaction notifications (iii) agreements, documents and disclosures (iv) receipts and other confirmations (together “Communication”) – electronically. Users explicitly agree and consent to receiving such Communication electronically. If users want Communications sent to them by mail, please contact email@example.com. Any electronic Communication will be considered to be received within 24 hours after the time Abra sends a notification, email or a posts it to the Abra website about it. Any communications sent by postal mail will be considered to be received 3 business days after Abra sent it.
Abra may at times contact users using phone calls or text messages at the telephone number(s) users have provided Abra. If a user provides a telephone number(s), users confirm that they are owners of such number or authorized to use such number(s). Abra may place such calls or texts to provide notices regarding user accounts with Abra or transaction activity or when users have asked Abra to do so. Users agree that Abra and Abra’s service providers may contact users using calls and text messages to carry out the purposes identified above. Abra may share user phone number(s) with service providers with whom Abra contracts to assist in pursuing these interests, but will not share phone number(s) with third parties for their own purposes without user consent. Standard telephone minute and text charges may apply. Abra and Abra’s service providers will not use calls or texts to contact users for marketing purposes at the telephone number(s) designated unless users provided prior express written consent.
Users may withdraw consent to receive Communications electronically or change any communication preferences by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Abra reserves the right to terminate accounts in this connection. If users would like a paper copy of a Communication we users may request a copy by contacting Abra as described above. Abra will send paper copy of Communications by U.S. mail. Abra may charge a fee of $5.00 for each Communication.
